SONNY ART FIGURE - OIL STAIN (LIMITED EDITION)

I call these figures "Oil Stain" because of how dramatically the black paint reminds me of how old cartoons would depict motor oil. I made 5 of these small figures at100% scale that are 9in tall and one really big version at about 500% scale at 24in.

Ever since I began drawing these characters, I always wanted to see them in the third dimension. I made these figures to be art that decorates your space, the same way these characters have unconsciously decorated many of the pieces that I have made. This year I sought to learn new skills that I could add to my creative process, and I did several experiments with these figures to ensure that they were something I felt comfortable selling to people. These figures take a while to make because they are 3D printed sculptures that are hand painted by me, however, I am committed to working consistently through producing these. In an effort to step into the world of collectibles, like you already may be familiar with, first editions of these figures will be numbered and signed. The same way that there are people that still have prints of mine, from when I first began selling art, I look forward to these being pieces that people hold onto and take with them for years to come. Each figure is slightly different. This figure is priced slightly lower than the other figures because I want Sonny to be as accessible to people as possible.
